Crystal Peaks Storage Group is a privately-held real estate investment firm founded by Joseph D. Strobele. The firm invests capital in ministorage investment opportunities including single asset acquisitions, asset repositioning, development and redevelopment, and joint ventures. Crystal Peaks seeks exceptional investment opportunities to provide risk adjusted returns to its investors and partners.
Our Founder Joseph Strobele is a highly accomplished real estate investment professional in the real estate industry creating value through the acquisition, financing, development, asset management and disposition of real estate through several real estate cycles spanning over two decades. The industry relationships, expertise and experience of Crystal Peak’s established relationships to facilitate our objective to create highly attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors. Joseph applied all his experiences, relationships, and market knowledge in a concentrated effort to form a platform that effectively sources and executes on attractive investment opportunities. Joseph, like the companies he had founded in the past, guides Crystal Peaks to acquire assets that provide risk adjusted returns by arbitraging the asset price, along with superior management practices with placement of labor and materials to create value.
BackgroundIn 2004 Joseph co-founded The LEXAS Companies. LEXAS grew to four operating divisions which developed high profile projects, performed conversions from apartments to condominiums, performed rehabilitation construction, and a mortgage company in partnership with a Seattle based regulated bank. Joseph is mostly known for developing ESCALA, the notable luxury high-rise condominium project in downtown Seattle. ESCALA became world famous from being featured in the best-selling novel “50 Shades of Grey”.
Prior to developing ESCALA Joseph had a successful company that syndicated private capital to purchase real estate assets on a risk adjusted return. Through disciplined underwriting, strong execution, and market timing, the returns exceeded investors’ expectations. Before striking out on his own, Joseph had a highly successful career as a development executive with two of the most respected real estate investment companies in the US; Legacy Partners and Lincoln Property Company, where he was responsible for overseeing the sourcing, financing, investment management, and development of high profile projects in the Seattle area.
Prior to moving to Seattle, Joseph resided in the Los Angeles area where his experience extends to Southern California and Southern Nevada as well. During the early 1990’s, Joseph worked several years in the banking industry in Southern California and conceptualized work-outs honing his skills in the distressed asset class. Due to Joseph skills to quickly analyze complex situations relative to values and form a plan he was the go to person for two major events in LA: 1993 the urban wild fires, and 1994 the Northridge Earthquake. These local catastrophes resulted in Joseph executing strategies for the bank to manage hundreds of commercial and residential distressed assets that where repositioned and/or rebuilt for disposition. Joseph started his real estate career as an analyst and appraiser which trained him early in his career to assess property and market valuations, which have enabled him to have an inside track for identifying and analyzing opportunities.
Over the course of Joseph’s many years in the industry, he has built an impressive network of relationships with regional, national and in some cases international communities of lenders, brokers, and insurance professionals. Joseph is a former Captain in the United States Air Force, has and undergraduate degree specializing in electrical engineering with a minor in applied math from Wright State University, and is a graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California’s Masters in Real Estate Development Program (MRED).
Joseph is highly involved in youth sports philanthropy activities and advocating issues related to youth sports and social justice. He currently sits on the board of the Crossfire Premiere Soccer Club which is highly noted as one of the most competitive youth soccer organizations in the country that serves over 1,000 players. Joseph also currently sits on the Lake Washington Youth Soccer board, its executive committee and serves as Treasure that serves approximately 7,000 youth soccer players of all skill levels. He is involved in action sports youth advocacy and sits on the board of Skate Like a Girl which is one of the world’s largest skate boarding organizations promoting skate boarding skills, social justice, and life skills mentorship for youth.
